WHEREAS, First District Democrats believe that sufficiently funded public education is a critical
public good which undergirds equal opportunity and a democracy, and

WHEREAS, every child deserves a world-class education in a safe and supportive environment,
and

WHEREAS, additional local funding is needed to support additional staffing, learning,
technology and facility needs, particular to its school district, and

WHEREAS, Lake Washington School District has informed First District Democrats about its
Educational Programs and Operations Levy, School Technology & Facilities Capital Projects
Levy, and Building Excellence Construction (bond + levy), which will be proposed on the
February 8, 2022 Special Election ballot.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that First District Democrats endorse the YES/APPROVE
position in the February 8, 2022 election for the Educational Programs and Operations Levy,
School Technology & Facilities Capital Projects Levy, and Building Excellence Construction
proposals put forward by the Lake Washington School District, and will publish its support for
its three measures, and

FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that First Legislative District Democrats encourages its
members to speak out and campaign for the Lake Washington School District’s levy in the
February 2022 election.
