State of Washington
U.S. Senator
Patty Murray
As one of the senior senators, Patty Murray has worked hard for Washington State. She has stood up to
protect women’s rights, human rights, health care, voting rights, and for democracy. The committee
recommends her for endorsement.
U.S. Congressional Representative — 1st Congressional District
Suzan DelBene
A stalwart Democrat and leader of the New Democrat Coalition, Congresswoman DelBene has fought
hard for women’s rights, voting rights, the expansion and continuation of the ACA, and issues that affect
Washington State. She has earned her the recommendation of the committee.
Supreme Court Justice — Position 1
Mary Yu
Incumbent Judge Yu has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Yu is running unopposed.
Supreme Court Justice — Position 5
Barbara Madsen
Incumbent Judge Madsen has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Madsen is running unopposed.
1st Legislative District Representative — Position 1
Davina Duerr
Representative Duerr has worked hard for issues that affect the 1st Legislative District. Currently she
serves on the Transportation Committee and as Vice Chair of both the Environment and Energy
Committee as well as the Local Government Committee. She also served as an assistant whip. Her policy
work focus on the environment and local government. The committee recommends her for
endorsement.
1st Legislative District Representative — Position 2
Shelley Kloba
Representative Kloba has worked hard for issues that affect the 1st Legislative District. Her support of
education and women’s rights shows that she is the future of the state, and her engagement in the
committees she serves on is proof. The committee recommends her for endorsement.
King County
Prosecuting Attorney
Leesa Manion
Leesa Manion is running against Jim Ferrell for prosecuting attorney. While both candidates are
excellent, the committee felt that Leesa’s positions more closely aligned with those of the First District Democrats. Her experience as the Chief of Staff of the King County Prosecutor’s Office gives her first-
hand experience with the cases and issues facing King County. The committee recommends her for endorsement.
Superior Court Judge — Position 2
Kristin Ballinger
Incumbent Judge Ballinger has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Ballinger is running unopposed.
District Court Judge, West Division — Position 1
Joe Campagna
Incumbent Judge Campagna has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement.
District Court Judge, West Division — Position 2
Karama Hawkins
Karama Hawkins is running for an open seat and is running unopposed. She thoroughly impressed the
committee with her knowledge of the issues, drive, and goals to improve the court system and address
imbalances and inequities in the system.
King/Snohomish County
District Court Judge, Northeast Division — Position 2
Michelle Gehlsen
Incumbent Judge Gehlen has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement.
District Court Judge, Northeast Division — Position 4
Kevin Peck
Incumbent Judge Peck has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement.
District Court Judge, Northeast Division — Position 6
Michael Finkle
Incumbent Judge Finkle has proven over his long tenure to be a fair and equitable judge. He believes in
restorative justice and the reformation of individuals, but never to the point where the community is
endangered. He works hard to understand the culture and circumstances influencing those brought before him and treats the individuals through that lens. He chaired the groups that created the Regional
Veterans Court and the Regional Youth Court. He is challenged by Joshua Schaer, but we feel that Judge
Finkle continues to serve very effectively as a judge. Judge Finkle has earned the committee’s
endorsement.
District Court Judge, Northeast Division — Position 7
Rania Rampasad
Incumbent Judge Rampasad has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Rampasad runs unopposed.
Snohomish County
District Court Judge, South Division — Position 1
Beth Fraser
Incumbent Judge Fraser has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Fraser runs unopposed.
District Court Judge, South Division — Position 1
Jeffrey D. Goodwin
Incumbent Judge Goodwin has proven to be a fair and equitable judge and has earned the committee’s
endorsement. Judge Goodwin runs unopposed.
