Our Elections Committee is responsible for voter registration, election research and preparation, candidate and volunteer recruitment, coordinating with candidate campaigns, and candidate endorsements.

Each year the Elections Committee identifies and meets candidates, then recommends selected candidates for endorsement by the general membership. This evaluation process involves identifying offices subject to election; identifying incumbent elected representatives, challengers, and candidates for vacant seats; reviewing candidate questionnaires; meeting candidates; and recommending our preferred single candidate for each office. We need to hear from members throughout our district to identify excellent candidates, make sound endorsements, and effectively support candidates that represent our values and communities!

Please join our meetings and help where you can with this important work. You will be asked to disclose and potential conflicts of interest, and to assist with the review and vetting of candidates by reviewing candidate questionnaires and attending candidate interviews. All members of the First District Democrats are welcome to join the Elections Committee!

Our committee meets online at 7:00pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in joining this committee, please email the Elections Chair.
