WHEREAS, First District Democrats believe that sufficiently funded public education is a critical
public good which undergirds equal opportunity and a democracy, and

WHEREAS, every child deserves a world-class education in a safe and supportive environment,
and

WHEREAS, additional local funding is needed to support additional security, custodial and
student-support staffing, technology and facility needs, particular to its school district, and

WHEREAS, Snohomish School District has informed First District Democrats about its
Proposition 1: Educational Programs & Operation Replacement Levy and Proposition 2:
Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety, & Facility Improvements, both of which will be
proposed on the February 8, 2022, Special Election ballot.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that First District Democrats endorse the YES/APPROVE
position in the February 8, 2022, election for Proposition 1: Educational Programs & Operation
Replacement Levy and Proposition 2: Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety, & Facility
Improvements, put forward by the Snohomish School District, and will publish its support for
both measures, and

FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that First Legislative District Democrats encourages its
members to speak out and campaign for the Snohomish School District’s levies in the February
2022 election.
